2019 AGM Report

Aug 6, 2019Event Results, Newsletter

Our 2019 AGM was held on Saturday 27th July.

We struggled to get a quorum so we started a tad late. Low numbers typically means we’re doing a good job!
The subsequent prize giving really filled the place up. Lots of toddlers again this year, so good to see the youngsters in the mix.
There’s AGM minutes available for anyone interested. In brief though: membership numbers are well up (350’sh currently), good tournament results with the exception of the 10kg (modest loss), pretty much the same exec committee (still looking for a replacement Secretary/Treasurer), slight increase in membership subs to raise enough to pay a new sec/treasurer a respectful wage, and a robust discussion on whether the One Base meal/final prize giving could/should be held at Sandspit – primarily because of the disastrous hospitality experienced at the typical venue over recent consecutive events. All in all we’re a strong club with established successful events, and we look forward to another year of sharing these with you.

Huge thanks to our generous sponsors Hunting & Fishing New Zealand Warkworth Matakana Marine and Mahurangi Marine LTD . Thanks also to Dan Kitchen and Bar Sandspit Yacht Club and the team for the epic food and cold drinks and to Carol Brown for filling in at the measure in.
